Tall people get the shaft

oh i know you've heard it. I complain an insane amount about being tall. But this next complaint goes past too-short pants and mean comments. This is about HOMES. Homes are built for a person who is 5'3" - the average height of women in the 50's. Now, I may be a giant for a woman, but I am certainly not abnormal when compared to men. Lots of men are 6' or over. And every appliance, counter top, sink, etc is made for short people. If you are short or normal, you have never considered this. But I cannot physically wash my hands in the bathroom sink without bending way over. Doorknobs, dresser tops, YOU NAME IT. it's all built on the average height of a woman in the 50s because she took care of the house. A) people are taller now. B) that is sexist. C) you smell bad

I never really noticed any of this until i went to college. They built things for taller people there - everything is 6" higher. Then I come home again. *sigh*

it's not really a big deal - it's not like I have back problems that this is exacerbating. But COME ON! When I get rich and famous, i will build my house with everything much much much higher
