Laundry etiquette
I hate the laundry situation in dorms. People never seem to understand how to behave. To me, the rules of laundry room etiquette are clear and universally understood. Apparently, they are not. So for all you classless jerks out there - this is how you behave. pay attention
1. do NOT take more than 2 washers at a time. If you are fug-nasty and have like 5 loads all saved up, fine. But you cannot just monopolize all the mashines!!! Unless it is 3am, stick to a limited number and leave the rest for those of us who like clean clothes all the time
2. NEVER remove someone's clothes from a washer unless they have let more than 5 minutes elapse since the washer cut off. A 5 minute window is necessary and polite. Who wants to walk in 2 minutes after the washer finished to find a stranger throwing their wet clothes on the floor?
3. NEVER be more than 5 minutes late getting your clothes out of the wash. No one wants to touch your soggy underwear, newly clean or not, so get your ass of the couch and come move it yourself!
4. For god's sake - make sure that you remove your dryer sheets from the laundry and don't drop them on the floor! It is ridiculous the number of dryer sheets that end up on the ground, still in the machines, or floating just outside the door in the hallway. Maybe the cleaning staff could be blamed for this, but those things are slippery and do not belong on the floor
5. DONT do laundry with your significant other. You two being all cutesy and pretending that you're married is disgusting and no one wants to deal with that. Talking and flirting do not belong in a place where you clean your dirty underwear....just do your own damn laundry yourself and leave love out of it
If you break these rules, do not attempt to justify them to yourself. You are plain wrong and I dislike you for it.
