Yale is not for me

Getting rejected from Yale was quite possibily the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I have never felt so awful in all my life and I also felt like all the hard work I had done was for absolutely nothing. I have never gotten over the sting or sadness of that rejection until today.

My English class, which is not a particularly high level, is a Brit lit class. British lit is my specialty and my love. i thought I would be so happy in there. Actually, I have never felt dumber in my life. Everyone was analyzing Caemon's Hymn and dropping names and making comparisons to things I had never heard of. My teacher began speaking another language and I felt like the biggest idiot because I could barely keep up let alone contribute.

I realized that Yale would be like that only worse. In every subject, in every class. And truthfully, I like being the smart one. I like not having to work very hard for my grade. So maybe Yale would have challenged me and pushed me, but here at UNC I can still be smart. Except in that class, of course
